Shannon Arola has worked with Fundamental Therapy Solutions since January of 2018 and prior to that spent almost 10 years at The Morris Center in Gainesville and Ocala, Florida. Shannon graduated from the University of Florida in 1999. She has training in reflexes, electrical stimulation, and massage, which she uses for all ages to help the body move with as little compensation and pain as possible. Shannon specializes in Sensory Integration techniques. She has a passion for Jesus, her family, and loves to travel.
Megan is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and the Social Group Director who has worked at Fundamental Therapy Solutions since 2017.Previously, Megan worked for a non-profit organization that specializes in treating children with special needs. She received the Occupational Therapy Advocacy Award in 2016, and has been involved with the media with emphasis on creativity in treatment sessions. She currently lives with her husband Daulton, their two dogs and has a baby on the way. Megan enjoys kayaking, hiking and cycling with her family in her spare time.
Casey is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant who has been with Fundamental Therapy Solutions since 2017. She graduated from University of Florida in 2014 with a Bachelors of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology and went on become and Occupational Therapy Assistant after receive her Associates in Science Degree from Florida State College at Jacksonville following internships at Shands for Kids at Magnolia Parke, Bradford County School system and Riverwood Health and Rehab Center. Casey is originally from New Orleans, LA, and currently lives in the Gainesville area.
Taylor Brown is an Occupational Therapist who has worked with Fundamental Therapy. Solutions since 2018. Prior to working with Fundamental Therapy. Solutions Taylor spent 3 years as a life skills coach for individuals with special needs. Taylor graduated from Saginaw Valley State University in 2017. Taylor loves to be outside, play sports/be active and do arts and crafts.
Jocie Lemus is an Occupational Therapist who has worked with Fundamental Therapy Solutions since 2018. Prior to working with Fundamental Therapy Solutions Jocie spent some time at The Morris Center and in hand therapy. Jocie graduated from the University of Florida in 2016. Jocie specializes in self-regulation and sensory-motor development so that people can have the opportunity to explore and find enjoyment. Jocie has a passion for the mind-body connection and for teaching. She loves being outdoors, exploring new places and learning.
Julia is an Occupational Therapist who has worked with Fundamental Therapy Solutions since 2018. Julia graduated from the University of Florida in 2017 and completed training at UF Health in Gainesville, FL and Kennedy Krieger Institute, a pediatric Johns Hopkins affiliate in Baltimore, MD. Julia's special interests include feeding therapy. Julia and her dog, Kai, enjoy volunteering as a pet therapy team at UF Health hospital.
Ta’Niqua (kids know her as Ms. TJ) is from Rocky Point, NC (small town outside of Wilmington, NC). She received her Bachelor's degree in biology in 2013 from Livingstone College in NC. She received her Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from University of St. Augustine in 2016. Ta’Niqua worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 7 years before becoming an Occupational Therapist as caring for others is her passion.She has been with Fundamental Therapy since 2017 as a full-time contract therapist in the schools in Columbia County, the clinic and The Einstein School.
Kristen started working with Fundamental Therapy Solutions on January 17th, 2018, which marked the first day of her OT career. She graduated from the University of St. Augustine in August 2017 with a Masters of Occupational Therapy degree. Kristen was born and raised in Gainesville, so she is glad to be back and working for FTS!. She is interested in obtaining a feeding, eating and swallowing speciality certification in the future.
Lila graduated from Salt Lake Community College in 2006 with her Associate of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy Assisting degree. Lila has worked with Fundamental Therapy Solutions since 2013. Prior to working with FTS, Lila spent several years in a variety of settings, including pediatrics, schools, nursing homes, and home health while traveling with her husband in the military. Lila loves to spend time with her husband and two sons and is learning how to do quilling in her spare time.
Mira graduated from the University of Florida in April 2016 with her bachelors in Health Science, and a minor in Disabilities in Society. She went on to get her Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of Florida, and graduated in December of 2017. During her clinical internships, Mira had the opportunity to work with patients in the neurological ICU, general medicine, and neurosurgery floors at UF Health Hospital. She also had the opportunity to work with children with developmental delays, and sensory processing difficulties while doing her internships at Fundamental Therapy Solutions, and the Morris Center. Mira loves to work with children with a variety of diagnoses including sensory processing, and developmental delays. When she is not working, she likes to spend time with her family and friends, and go on trails with her adorable dog.
Haley is an OT who has worked with Fundamental Therapy Solutions since 2016. Haley graduated from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2016. She has received further education and training in the Handwriting Without Tears Pre-K and K-5 curriculum. In her spare time she enjoys reading, travelling, and spending time with her friends and family.
Kimberly has worked with Fundamental Therapy Solutions since 2015. Prior to working with Fundamental Therapy Solutions Kimberly spent 22 years as a Massage Therapist and 5 years as a My Gym Children's Fitness Center owner and operator. Kimberly graduated from The University of Florida Masters in OT program in 2015. Kimberly specializes in Sensory Processing Disorder in children. Kimberly has a passion for children's health and spending time with her 2 boys is her greatest joy.
Keith has been an OT for over 17 years, many of which have been in the area of pediatrics, and has been working with Fundamental Therapy Solutions since 2016. He specialize in sensory integration with the ability to employ a variety of other models as well. He has been married for almost 20 years and shares in the joy of raising three wonderful pre-teens.
Janay Tate is an Occupational Therapist who has worked with FTS since 2015. Janay graduated from the University of Florida with her Masters in Occupational Therapy in 2015. She has completed additional training in the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum for Pre-K and K-5. She loves to spend her free time with her family, traveling, and reading.
